Q:  WTF is a gear-inch?

A:  It’s simply a measure of the distance your bicycle wheel travels through one pedal stroke.  As you shift into lower gears, each pedal stroke will cause your wheels to travel less distance; conversely, higher gears will cause them to travel further.

On a singlespeed or fixed-gear bike, you have to choose your ratio ahead of time, because once it’s all bolted together, that’s all the gearing you’ll get.

This site exists as a place for me to post whatever I feel like about bicycles, such as reviews, photos, projects, etc.  Comments are always welcome, but keep it clean.

I began using 1&1.com as my web host in ’06 after my last host became unreliable. In the last year, I’ve had zero downtime, and I’ve even been asked by a couple people who my webhost was because they wanted to switch to it. They have great bandwidth speed, easy set-up, quick phone help Mon.-Fri. (but it’s pretty weak on weekends), and are very cheap. Click one of the links below if you’re interested in building a website with a great host.
